5 Signs You Have a Cockroach Problem (Before It Gets Worse)

5 Signs You Have a Cockroach ProblemWhy Early Detection Matters

Cockroaches reproduce fast — one female can produce hundreds of offspring in a year. Catching an infestation early is the difference between a simple fix and a serious problem.

Sign 1: Droppings

Cockroach droppings look like black pepper or coffee grounds. You'll find them in dark corners, inside cabinets, behind appliances, and along baseboards. The more droppings, the larger the infestation.

Sign 2: Egg Cases (Oothecae)

Cockroaches lay their eggs in dark brown capsules called oothecae. Each capsule contains 10–50 eggs. Find them behind furniture, inside cracks, and under appliances. If you see egg cases, the infestation is already established.

Sign 3: Shed Skin

Cockroaches molt up to 8 times before reaching adulthood. Shed skins near hiding spots indicate an active, growing population.

Sign 4: Musty Odor

A large cockroach infestation produces a distinctive musty, oily smell from their pheromones. If you notice an unexplained odor in your kitchen or bathroom, check for other signs immediately.

Sign 5: Live or Dead Cockroaches During the Day

Cockroaches are nocturnal. Seeing them during daylight hours means the population has grown too large for their hiding spaces — a sign of a serious infestation.

What to Do If You Spot These Signs

Act quickly. Start with Sulguy Cockroach Gel Bait — place small dots in cracks, crevices, and behind appliances where cockroaches hide. Gel bait is carried back to the nest, killing the colony from within.

Set Sulguy Glue Traps along walls and under appliances to monitor activity levels and catch stragglers.

Apply Sulguy Diatomaceous Earth Powder along baseboards and entry points for continuous protection.
